Why should I sign up with PMR Hosting over another provider?
Many reasons. We offer superior web hosting to business and personal accounts with EXTREME speed with multiple internet connections.
Will I be able to access my domain name with or without the WWW?
Yes, you will be able to access the domain name with or without the WWW in front. For example, you could access the domain name "mydomain.com" by going to "www.mydomain.com" as well as "mydomain.com".
Do you offer Microsoft FrontPage extensions?
Yes. Microsoft FrontPage 98 & 2001-2002 extensions are currently available.
Do you offer SSL (secure) hosting?
Yes- Your SSL pages would be 'https://www.pmrhosting.com/yourdomain/'
Can I install my own CGI programs? Do I get my own cgi-bin?
Yes. You get your very own cgi-bin directory with full control over your own scripts.
What if I want more flexibility than CGIPerl allows?
Currently we only support Perl related programs.
Do you offer telnet or shell access?
Yes. We are currently offering SSH.
Can I use my private FTP account as an anonymous FTP service?
No. The private FTP account which you receive is intended for uploading and managing your web site.
Can I host my pornographic or offensive material on PMR Hosting?
No. Although we respect the First Amendment rights of individuals, and oppose the censorship of the Internet, we are not prepared to host sites which we consider to be objectionable. Our reason is simple. Pornography draws too many viewers, too quickly, and would adversely affect our other customers, and our support staff.
Can I host my "warez" site on PMR Hosting?
No. Illegal software distribution ("warez") is prohibited by U.S. law.
Can I use PMR Hosting to send spam?
No. PMR Hosting defines spam to be mass, unsolicited messages (i.e. junk mail on the Internet). Accounts which send spam will be immediately terminated, and will be charged theft of service fines up to $250 plus a $0.50 processing fee per complaint received.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover as well as personal or business check, and money order. Payment must be made in U.S. funds drawn on a U.S. bank.
Can I sublet, subhost or let other people have web sites on my account?
Subhosting is prohibited on ALL accounts. Any such sites found hosting
other sites without written or authorize approval will be subject to removal from the server.
What is the difference between an e-mail alias and a POP3 e-mail account?
An e-mail account is a mailbox which stores e-mail. An e-mail alias (also known as an "e-mail forward") is simply a pointer to an e-mail account. E-mail aliases points to a PMR Hosting-maintained e-mail account in which all mail sent to the alias account will be forwarded to your POP3 account.
Do you offer telephone support?
PMR Hosting is structured around e-mail support. It gives us the flexibility to answer questions, and deal with problems in an effective and timely manner. If an emergency arises, you can call us.
How do I upgrade or modify my service?

To upgrade or modify your account, please send an e-mail with your username and domain name to webmaster@pmrhosting.com and in detail explain how you would like to change your level of service.
Do you support Java and Javascript? What about server-side Java?
PMR Hosting supports all client-side languages, including Java and Javascript. Currently due to the lack of a stable and efficient Java engine for the BSD operating system we don't offer server side Java. If current engines improve we may consider this in the future.
Do you support Cold Fusion, Microsoft SQL Server, Microsoft Access, Microsoft Visual Interdev, VBScript, IIS, and Active Server Pages (ASP)?
PMR Hosting is a Unix-only hosting solution. These technologies are restricted to Windows platforms, and are not included in PMR Hosting service offerings. Support for ASP is in the works, as there is a company that is developing ASP support for Unix webservers.
Can I transfer an existing domain to PMR Hosting?
Yes. When you use our online Order form, be sure to specify that you are requesting a transfer and NOT a new domain. You should keep the service at the present site while waiting for InterNIC to complete the transfer. We will provide you with an IP address so you can mirror the site on our server. All e-mail and web pages will still be accessed from the current site. NOTE: You need to be able to receive e-mail at the address on file with the InterNIC for your current domain name if it is a transfer.

Can PMR Hosting Install each script for me?

We will install a formmail, guestbook, and forum for free. Any other type of scripts just e-mail webmaster@pmrhosting.com with the name of the script and we would gladly quote you a price on script installation.
How much would it cost to have a script modified to fit the design of my site?
We can modify your CGI script to fit the design of your site, to help make your site look more professional. We charge at a hourly rate of $65.00 to adjust or modify your script to fit your site to help everything give that professional look. On average we can do your script in under a hour for typical scripts.
